Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Join the tour if I haven’t been to Ziarat before?

Absolutely! We are a welcoming, friendly and supportive group who provide a scholar who is fluent in English, Urdu, Arabic and Farsi to answer your questions and guide you every step of the way.

is it safe for small children/ the elderly?

Yes. Our youngest Zawar was not even 18 months old and our eldest was in his late 70s. We actively provide different levels of support based on needs including wheelchair service upon request and our itinerary is designed to be sensibly paced while providing a full service. We also have an embedded medical doctor and pharmacist on hand.

it seems expensive, can I split payments?

Of course! We are the only group that allows you to pay by credit card, allowing you to not need any cash up front and to be able to split the costs into your monthly bills.

How are the hotels and travel?

We take our own family members in the group, so only stay in the highest rated and famous hotels in Kazamein, Karbala and Najaf. We are constantly visiting and reviewing new hotels and their facilities but we are confident that you will be happy with our choices.

A typical tour

Kazamein, Baghdad

The Zarihs of Imam Musa al Kadhim (as) and his Holy Grandson Imam Taqi al Jawwad (as). this haram is known as “babul hawayej” (the gateway to your wishes) and is usually the first Haram we visit as we typically land in Baghdad Airport which is only a few miles away.

The haram is also the burial place of many giants of Shia Scholarship including (but not limited to) Sheikh al Mufid and Sayed Rady (the compiler of the Nahjul Balagha)

Balad, Baghdad

The Zarih of Sayed Muhammad, the son of Imam Naqi (as). This is a famous site visited by people who have trouble having children. often, a sacrifice performed here (and the meat distributed as sadaqah) will result in a child being born within a year.

Samarrah

The Zarihs of Imam Naqi (as), Imam Hassan al Askiri (as), The mother of the Awaited Imam atfs Lady Nargis Khatoun (sa) and the aunt of the Awaited Imam atfs Lady Hakeema Khatoun (sa)

Karbala

The Zarihs of Sayed us Shuhada Imam Hussain (as) and his holy brother Abul Fadhl Abbas (as), the shohada of karbala and the “maqams” in karbala and the surrounding areas where key events of the battle of ashura and its aftermath occured.

The majority of our tour is spent in Karbala allowing each person to fully immerse themselves in learning the history, the prayers and zikr, the mourning rituals, the visitation of holy sites and being part of the millions of Lovers of Imam Hussain (as) who have come from all over the world to mourn.

Musaiyyab

The Zarihs of Hazrat Muhammad (as) and Ibrahim (as) – the sons of Hazrat Muslim bin Aqeel (as) who were left alone surrounded by enemies in a foreign land when their father was martyred.

We are one of the priviliged few to visit the actual graves beneath the zarihs every year, which is an honour afforded to only 1 in every ten million visitors to iraq.

Najaf

The Zarihs of Ameerul Momineen, Abu Turab, Ali Ibn Abu Talib (as), The Prophets Adam (as) and Noah (as) as well as countless Great Shia Scholars from Allama al Hilli to Sayed al Khoei, and the home of the Greatest living Hawza ilmiyyah Mujtahids in Iraq such as Sayed Sistani, Sheikh Basheer Najafi and Sheikh Fayyadh.

There are too many sites in and around Najaf that we visit to list, such as Wadi as Salam Graveyard, Masjid Kufa, Masjid Sahla, Masjid Hanana, The preserved house of Imam Ali (as) and his family, and the zarih of his great companions such as Maitham al Tammar (as)

A final word about affordability

We are living in difficult economic times. If you are not able to find the cash to pay up front for your ziarat – we are the only group in the UK which allows for online credit card payments. What this means for you is that you do not need to pay anything up front – you can pay via your credit card (affording you all the protections and points gained from paying by credit card) and split the payments each month in a way that suits you. This takes the pressure off you to spend from your savings and also allows you to control your finances carefully.
